About Grand Tea & Imports 佛運玄 | 好茶水

With over a decade of experience sourcing Chinese cultural goods, our small family shop has grown to house one of New York's widest selection of fine tea leaves and tea wares, Buddhist art and supplies and traditional gifts.

For a glimpse of Chinatown's traditions, take a walk through the aisles packed with scented incenses, handmade altars, and paper worship supplies. Visitors can also sample teas sourced from all corners of Asia. There is so much to discover at Grand Tea & Imports!

Located at 298 Grand St, New York, NY 10002, Grand Tea & Imports 佛運玄 | 好茶水 operates as a tea shop serving New York in New York. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as herbalist, religious goods store, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Store size varies enormously, from a small corner grocery with a few aisles to a full supermarket chain location in New York with a bakery, seafood counter and food court under one roof. Sales and promotions are often posted in-store or in a weekly flyer rather than online, so prices listed on a website may be out of date. Seafood markets sell live and on-ice product and can usually clean or prepare fish on request for a small fee. Specialty food stores in New York may focus narrowly on one category, like a butcher, a rice and dry goods shop, or an import store, so calling ahead to confirm stock for a specific item saves a wasted trip.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 9 AM–7:30 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Grand Tea & Imports 佛運玄 | 好茶水 at (929) 398-5567; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, grandteaimports.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 82 reviews, which is a strong result for a tea shop in New York and suggests consistent service.

New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around New York is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Walked by and the owner offered us free tea samples! Such a beautiful store with great items. Highly recommend -- the staff is so hospitable and knowledgable.

Huge selection of teas, and most (if not all) are available in 1-oz bags which is perfect for people who love to try new teas. They also carry a wide variety of mini tea cakes and single serve pu-er resins for $1-2 each which are great for travel or, again, trying new flavors.

Really great tea shop. The staff is kind, patient, and helpful. They have an wide selection of teas, tea wares, incense, and other items. While they do have an online shop, I'd definitely recommend visiting in person for the full experience and to see everything they carry (their in-store inventory is much larger). One tip: leave your big bags at home. The shop is cozy with lots of beautiful, fragile items on display. I came in with a backpack and spent the whole time worried I'd knock something over. Didn't break anything thankfully 😅

Came here specifically for this LNY candy spin tray. There are so many other gems in here. You get to sample some tea too!

I recently ran out of tea so I ordered online for in store pickup, but will be back to browse in person. The store has an extremely vast selection of teas and other accessories that are worth checking out in detail. 🍵 🫖 🌟

Grand Tea and Imports really is a treasure trove of Chinese tea and cultural artifacts. On the owner's recommendation, we picked up a couple of teas and thoroughly enjoyed them. It was heartwarming to see young Chinese patrons excited and nostalgic as they encountered items reminding them of their childhood. The store is run with love by a husband-wife duo and they were extremely polite and hospitable during our visit. I truly enjoyed the selection of teas and would highly recommend this store!

I love this store! I finally stopped by recently, and I’ll be back soon. The store owner was so friendly and welcoming, and their tea selection is fantastic. They have high quality tea for amazing prices too. I bought yellow tea for only $4 an ounce, and they have more specialty teas like 30 year aged Pu Erh. Their teaware is also quite nice!
